Hillside Vineyard & Orchard Rules

Hillside Vineyard and Orchard is a family-owned & operated Vineyard and Orchard. We are a U-Pick and Pre-Pick business. Guests should prepare for a fun and safe day outside on the vineyard.  We encourage guests to wear appropriate attire and recommend closed-toe shoes or boots.  Guests should plan accordingly for sunny, hot, and humid summer days.  It is best to pick grapes and fruit in the morning or evening time frame because the sugar content is higher and sweeter.

ALL Guests are required to sign a waiver before picking grapes or fruit at the Vineyard and Orchard.  Waivers will be available at the farm.

At the Vineyard and Orchard you may encounter some of the following:

  • Poison Ivy

  • Snakes

  • Spiders

  • Ticks

  • Chiggers

  • Bees

  • Wasps

  • Sumac

  • Multiflora Rose

Recommendations:

  • Please exercise caution in your surroundings due to uneven terrain and the presence of small holes.

  • For footwear, it is recommended to wear closed-toe shoes or boots as the grass rows may be wet from rain or dew. It is advisable to avoid wearing anything that you wouldn't want to get slightly dirty.

  • Anticipate terrain with sloping hills, irregular surfaces, and transitions between various types of surfaces.

  • The grapevines and fruit trees on our farm are thornless. Occasionally, some varieties of weeds with thorns may be present.

  • Sun Protection: While the grapevines and fruit trees offer some shade, we strongly recommend using sunscreen, wearing hats, and taking other sun protection measures. Please note that sunscreen is not provided at the farm.

  • Pets are not permitted on the farm due to safety concerns, although we do love them. Service animals are exempt from this rule and are always welcome, provided they remain leashed at all times. We do not allow pets to roam freely. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Special Needs – We are currently not handicap accessible however, should you have specific requirements, kindly inform our staff.  We will endeavor to ensure your visit to the farm is as delightful as possible.

  • Children must be supervised at all times – We enjoy welcoming your whole family to the farm, but ensuring everyone's safety is our top priority. An adult must accompany and monitor your children throughout your visit.
